In 1962-63, Lt. Col. Veale was the post engineer for Carlisle Barracks and was involved in planning and building the new Army War College memorial chapel center. Prior to his retirement in 1966, Lt. Col. Veale was in charge of engineering activities for the U.S. Army in West Germany.
He married Helen “Bunny” Cleven (1908-1986). His father was Virgil Asa Veale (1874-1926) and his mother was Annie Sandling (1879-1953).
