Edward graduated from Linden High School in New Jersey and in 1929 he graduated from Rensselaer College in Troy, NY with a degree in Civil Engineering.
He was a Captain in the H&S Company of the 97th Engineer Regiment. He and the 97th landed at Valdez, Alaska in April 1942. There was three feet of snow on the ground. The 97th built the northern section of the Alaska Highway.
In 1930 census he was the Civil Engineer for City Hall and in 1940 census he was a building superintendent in Irvington, NJ. He retired after 21 years as the supervisor for the Irvington Public Works Department. He also served as a consultant and director for Pulaski Savings and Loan of Irvington.
His parents, Stanley and Stella, were born in Poland and Edward was the last surviving founding member of the Polish Univeristy Club of New Jersey. He met and married Betty Janorskie of New York (1910-1981) and they had two sons, Robert E. and Arthur D.
