Enlisted: 14 August 1941 and released 12 August 1945. In the Army he was a truck driver, a heavy equipment operator and a bridge builder.

James and Terease were married 5 January 1945 in Suffolk, VA by Reverend J. O. Lee. Civilian occupation: carpenter and truck driver.
