African American. Alaska Highway. Veteran of WW2 and served one year as a Sergeant in the Korean War. H&S Company. Born: 25 October 1913, Waco, Texas. Died: 3 February 1985, Houston, Texas. Enlisted: 2 July 1941, Baltimore, MD and discharged 19 September 1945 from Alaska Highway Project.
Education: four years college. He graduated from A.S. Moore H.S. He received a BS Degree from Bishop College in Marshall, Texas in 1930’s and completed graduate studies in Social Sciences in Atlanta, GA and Houston Tellitson.
Civilian occupation: Employed by Brice L. King as a guard in the Veteran Administration Building, Washington, DC. His father was Ruff Manos, a laborer, and his mother was Leola Easter, a public school teacher. His sister was Mary Jane Manos employed at the State Colored Orphanage. He married Mattie Marie Hamilton on 24 May 1948 in Dallas, Texas.
