Born: 1 July 1888, McKinney Texas. Died: 5 February 1980, Santa Rosa, CA. He is buried at the Golden Gate National Cemetery, CA. Johnson assumed command of the 93rd Regiment on April 16, 1942.
Military Register: Enlisted 5June 1917 Army Corps of Engineers; 1st Lt Army CE 17 Sept 1917; Captain Army CE 10 October 1917; Major Army CE 24 Sept 1918 . WW1- dates of service 30 Apr 1918-12 Sept 1918, in the 4th Engineers, Assistant Chief of Staff 16th Division. Released 31 May 1949.
He graduated from high school in 1906 and in 1907 he completed courses at Acme Business College in Seattle. He continued his education at the University of Washington and completed both a B.S. and a M.S. degree in civil engineering by 1916.
Frank married Catherine P. Stotz (1896-1981) in 1923.
He was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Masons. He was employed as a civil engineer and oil operator of Seattle, Washington and designed the Ravenna Park and Cedar River Park bridges in Seattle.
Lt. Squires of the 93rd, described Colonel Johnson as short, medium and rather portly. At the time he took command of the 93rd Regiment he was 54.
