Education: grammar school. Civil occupation: Sawmill laborer. His father was Willie Shipp Haskins (1894-1948), farm laborer, and his mother was Queen Robison. He married Dattie Lee Haskins (1921-2008) on 3 May 1963.
When he returned from Cold Bay or Ft. Glenn in Aleutians (1944) Maj Gen Joseph D. Patch commander of the Ft. Lewis Army Service Forces congratulated Willie and the men of the 93rd Engineer (GS) Regiment who received a unit citation for their work on the Alcan (Alaska) Highway.
