
Alaska Highway, Corps of Engineers, 18th Regiment Exec Officer, 93rd Regimental Commander. Education: West Point graduate in 1925 and an advanced degree in Engineering at Cornell University in 1929.

Born: 22 May 1903, Chicago, Illinois. Died: 21 April 1949. He died when aboard an Army Bomber that crashed on Mt. Hood, Oregon. He was 46 years old. Buried at San Francisco National Cemetery.
He replaced Col. Frank Johnson on 12 Oct. 1942 as the 93rd’s Regimental Commander. He arranged for winter quarters for the 93rd at Chilkoot Barracks, Haines, AK. It was the first time that many men slept on cots and had a roof over their heads
Stationed at Chilkoot Barracks, Alaska from 3 Jan 1943 to 17 Feb 1943. Departed from Chilkoot on 18 Feb 1943 and arrived at Ft. Randall (Cold Bay) Alaska on 27 Feb 1943. Resident Engineer, Ft. Randall from 27 Feb 1943 to 27 March 1944 and Post Commander, Ft. Randall from 16 Dec 1943 to 27 Mar 1944. On DS and leave in United States from 28 March 1944 to 11 May 1944. Post Commander and Resident Engineer, Ft. Randall from 12 May 1944 to date of departure of unit from Ft. Randall, AK. Promoted from Lt. Col. to Colonel 18 Sept 1943.
