Alaska Highway, Company B, Born: 2 Jan 1917 West VA. Died: 14 December 2006, Cocoa, FL. Buried at Harpers Ferry, West VA. Enlisted: 15 May 1941 and discharged 14 Jan 1946.
He married Dorothy L. Cox of Ft. Royal, VA on 26 June 1946. He attended the University of West Virginia. His father, Edgar E. Dudrow, was a railroad conductor and died 27 Apr 1947. His mother, Elizabeth O’Boyle, passed on 5 Dec 1975.
He was Platoon Leader of 42 soldiers that graded, repaired and built bridges and culverts on the old wagon trail [now known as Klondike Highway]. They worked 10 days on the 50 mile wagon road from Carcross toward Whitehorse.
He was assigned Ft. Glenn on Umnak Island near Dutch Harbor (Aleutians) with the 2nd Battalion of the 93rd Engineers. He eventually was transferred from the 93rd Engineers to another outfit in Amchitka in the Aleutians.
