Education: two years high school. Civilian occupation: After the war he was a chief cook on Pat Trader, a vessel sailing from Vancouver, BC. He was a cook on many other ships. His sister was Ruth Oates who lived in Sacramento, CA. His mother was Alberta Bozman, a cook and maid for a private home.
Pvt Bozman was a member with a medical detachment assigned to the segregated 97th Engineers. They arrived at Valdez, Alaska on 29 April 1942. The 97th Engineers built the northern section of the Alaska Highway. Both returned to Camp Sutton, NC September 1943 and their next assignment was Milne Bay, New Guinea, Philippines.
