
Alaska Highway, Company C Commander, Civil Engineer. Born: 21 August 1911, Alabama Died: 22 November 2000, Alabama. Buried at Auburn Memorial Park.
He graduated from Alabama Polytechnic Institute [Auburn University] and after retirement from the Army, he taught industrial engineering at Auburn for fifteen years.
He was one of the original officers in the cadre assigned to the 93rd Battalion when it was activated at Camp Livingston, LA.
Arrived Chilkoot Barracks, Haines, AK 3 January 1943. Arrived Ft. Randall, Cold Bay, Aleutians, AK on 27 February 1943.
He was the author of Me and Co C, a biography of his time in Canada commanding Company C. As recorded in Helen B. Timberlake’s diary, Capt. Boyd dined with Lt. Timberlake and his new bride, Helen, in Seattle, Washington, February 1943.
